Senior Ladies Player of the Year 2020 - Caoimhe Lennon
This year’s senior award winner has been kicking football with Clann since she was very young and has represented the club at all age groups right up to and including senior level where she is now one of the main pillars of the senior squad. She played a strong part in the Clann na nGael dominance of underage ladies’ football in Roscommon recently by winning titles at U12, U14, U16 and minor level. In fact, she has an incredible 5 minor county titles in a row.
Not only noted as an outstanding player, her personality and leadership qualities also came to the fore during her glittering underage career which made the natural transition to senior level a breeze. In 2020, which as we all know was a very broken and fractured year, when it came to football, this girl did not let it detract her and probably put in her finest year in the Clann senior jersey yet. A sign of her maturity and now her standing within the squad.
She has played in several positions on the team, at wing back, at midfield but it’s as a forward she has excelled in the last couple of years. Top scorer in last year’s championship and already up there again this season.
She has also represented her club with distinction at county level at all grades over several years and has a very bright future ahead of her.
We congratulate her on achieving her much deserved award here tonight and wish her and the rest of the senior squad the very best for the upcoming year as they strive to win back that much coveted senior title.
