Senior Ladies

Clann 4-6 2-08 Kilbride
The Sheraton Athlone Hotel sponsored Senior Ladies took on Kilbride in Johnstown in Sunday last. Clann flew out of the he traps early on with an early goal. A second goal from a penalty put Clann 2-1 to 1-2 up midway through the first half. Kilbride took over during the closing stages of the half with a 1-2 salvo to leave the sides deadlocked 3-1 to 2-4 at the break.

The second half was a tighter affair with scores at a premium. The visitors were leading by 2 points with time running out. The Clann girls never gave up and finished the game with a 1-1 blast. This was a hard fought win for the team. They now play Western Gaels on Monday next at 11.

U.16 Div.1 League

Clann 4-16 0-00 Kilbride
Clann’s U.16 boys continued their unbeaten run in the league with a good win over Kilbride at Johnstown on Sunday last. Conditions were very difficult, with a strong wind blowing down the field and heavy showers at regular intervals. However, both teams fought hard to overcome the conditions and produce a good game of football.

Clann played against the strong wind in the first half but worked hard to keep the ball in the opposition half. Some early chances for points were missed, but two goals from Gary Mulvihill helped the lads to settle and the home team led by 2-5 to 0-0 at the interval.

The wind was even stronger in the second half, making it difficult for the Kilbride lads to work the ball up the field. Clann dominated possession and added to their scoreline with a string of long-range points from Ian Harney and further goals from Conor Ryan and Conor O’Reilly.

Squad: Neil Hannon, Eoghan Connaughton, Alan McManus, Ollie Hynes, Michael Harrington, Thomas Lennon, Luke Gavin, Ian Harney (0-06), Jason Mulvey, Adam Milton (0-01), John Shine (0-04), Conor Ryan (1-01), Oisin O'Flaithearta, Conor O Reilly (1-01), Gary Mulvihill (2-02), Eanna Henry, Rory Colgan, Cian O'Suilleabhain, Cormac Westman, Liam Ward, Kyle Greasley, Shane Gavin (0-01).
