The Matrix Bathrooms / Kennedys Supermacs sponsored Clann na nGael Senior team qualified for this year’s County Final virtue of a single point victory over Roscommon Gaels in Hyde Park on Sunday afternoon. The early exchanges were tense with both sides missing a number of chances. Early scores from Matt Scally and two from Donie Shine put Clann in a two point lead with fourteen minutes on the clock. This however was the last time Clann scored in the first half as Gaels dominated the remainder of the second half scoring four unanswered points to lead at the break on a scoreline of Clann 0-03 0-06 Roscommon Gaels.

Jonathan Dunning scored an important point at a crucial stage of the match to reduce the Gaels lead to just one point. The major turning point of the match came with just three minutes of normal time remaining when Darra Pettit blasted the ball to the net to give Clann a two point lead. Injury time proved to be a tense affair as the Gaels continued to surge forward looking for an equaliser.
