U.16 Boys

Clann 1.8 Pearses 0.11
Our Westside Dental U16 team took a deserved share of the spoils in Woodmount on Sunday morning when drawing with Padraig Pearses. It was level 0.4 apiece at half time and a great team goal finished by Aaron Oyiki seemed to set Clann on their way to victory. Pearses rallied and took the lead in injury time but a wonder score by captain Fionnán Henry from the side line , with the last kick of the game , secured a draw.

U10 Girls Blitz

Clann na nGael U.10 girls played in two Blitz matches in as many weekends!

The first Blitz was hosted by Padraig Pearses in Woodmount. The girls were divided into two equal teams which ensured that every player got equal playing time.

As usual, the girls tried hard and played some great football. The coaches were impressed by the teams tackling, reading of the game and some excellent passing. There is a real sense of the girls becoming a team which is great to see. A big thank you to Patrick Finneran and Padraig Galvin of Padraig Pearses, for organising the pitches and referees.

The girls were also invited by St. Brigids to play in the Brideswell Pattern blitz. Other teams participating were: St. Brigids, Padraig Pearses, Athlone, Garrycastle, Four Roads.

Clann entered two teams and the girls played x3 matches each. Again, the girls performed very well and enjoyed the games. A special mention goes to Keara McCoy who turned up to support her team even though she is on crutches! We all wish you a speedy recovery.

A big thank you to Enda Fallon and Orla Gavin from St. Brigids for organising. With car-park attendants, pitches marked out, referees, a printed schedule of games, refreshments and a medal presentation, this really was a very well organised event.
