MacNamee Awards GAA Website of the Year 2016

Minor Ladies Player of the Year 2017

This year’s award winner was practically born with a football in her hand. She has been kicking football with Clann since she was five years old and has represented the club at all age groups right up to and including senior level. She played a strong part in the Clann na nGael continued dominance of ladies’ football in Roscommon by winning titles at U12, U14, U16 and minor level.

Not only noted as an outstanding player and personality, her leadership capabilities also came to the fore during her underage career. She captained her club and county on several occasions, including the National Féile in Derry in 2013 and last years all conquering minor team. It is this leadership and dedication that makes her stand out from the rest in 2017. An example of her dedication was when she travelled back from college in Limerick for a challenge game at the beginning of the year showing tremendous leadership to the rest of her colleagues. Indeed, she has been told sometimes to slow down and take a rest such is her dedication and commitment to training.

She has transferred her outstanding underage promise to the senior ranks and will be a huge asset to the senior squad going forward. She is currently a member of the Roscommon senior squad, and has represented Roscommon at all underage levels. We look forward to watching this tremendous talent flourish at adult level and wish her well in her college, club and county career in the future.

The award for the Clann na nGael Minor Ladies Player of the Year 2017 and first recipient of the Lisa Dolan memorial trophy goes to:
