There followed a period when GAA became less of a passion. Instead, focus turned to academic endeavour and a career as a successful lawyer began which resulted in a move to Athlone, initially to Summerhill and more recently, Cornafulla. However, the passion for Gaelic Games was never far from the surface and the spark was re-ignited when our winner’s oldest children Séa and Laoise began their involvement with Clann. Since then, our winner has thrown himself into all aspects of our club, starting as mentor with various underage teams, then as an industrious member of the club executive and finally as minor board Chairman. He has filled all roles in the club with great passion and commitment and we hope he continues to do so for many years to come.
