It is with deep regret and sadness that Clann na nGael advise of the passing of Donal Shine Senior earlier this morning.
Donie was an iconic figure within our club as a player, manager, administrator and lifelong supporter. He was a pivotal figure, firstly as a player and later as team manager during the golden era of the 80’s and 90’s when Clann won thirteen county titles and seven Connacht titles. Donie leaves behind a remarkable legacy not only in Clann na nGael but also throughout Roscommon and the wider GAA community.
The club passes our deepest sympathy to Donal’s wife Lil, his daughters Karen, Clodagh and Susie, his sons Mark and Donal Junior, his brothers Enda, Michael and Paddy, his extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with Donal’s family at this very sad time.
Donal's remains will repose at his home on Sunday evening from 3pm until 8pm. Removal on Monday morning to St. Brigid's Church, Drum arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery. House private on Monday please.
