Junior A League
Clann played St Aidan's first team in round 4 of the Tansey Cup in Johnstown on Saturday night last.Played in ideal weather conditions, St. Aidan's got off to great start opening up a 0-03 to 0-01 point advantage. Then Clann got there foothold in the game kicking 6 unanswered points. They say goals win games, and on Saturday night that was no different. Clann were very unlucky to concede the first goal but responded positively with two quick points in succession. Clann suffered another set back when they conceded a penalty which David Finneran was unlucky not to save, but Clann's young team fought back and scored an excellent goal by Ciaran O`Reilly with great work by David Griffin. Clann went in leading at half time 1-11 to 2-04 with great points taken from Niall Connaughton, Killian Bannon and Ian Naughton. The wind picked up in the second half and with St Aidan's making a number of half time changes, this saw them kicking some excellent long range points before scoring two more goals in quick concession. Clann rallied well but could not find the scores they so badly needed, running out losers on a scoreline of 1-16 to 4-10. Clann young team will learn a lot from this highly entertaining game.

U.14 Div.1 League
Clann 8-16 St. Michaels 1-4After a good win on Sunday away to Roscommon Gaels, Thursday evening saw the Division 1 team’s campaign continue – this time at home to St Michaels, who made the long trip down from the North of the county to Johnstown.
As the scoreline would suggest, Clann were by far the stronger side, with all their big guns in action, and by halftime were up 6-6 to 0-1.
This afforded the home side the opportunity to empty the subs bench for the second half, and focus on scoring points. Indeed, it was promising to see some scores from some of the other forwards, with many new names on the scoresheet during this period.
To be fair, St Michaels never gave up, and did rally back with a few very good individual performances, including some from their younger players, and managed to accumulate a respectable 1-4 by the end of the game. Final score Clann 8-16 to St Michael’s 1-4.
Plenty of football for these young men in the coming weeks, with more challenge games, and a mini blitz in the pipeline. On Easter Sunday next the entire squad of Div 1 and Div 4 are in action, away to St Brigids and Eire Og respectively.
Panel: D Campion, O Hynes, A McManus, B Costello, L Gavin, N Hannon, T Lennon, J Mulvey, C O’Reilly, C Ryan, I Harney, A Milton, J Gavin, J Shine, S O’Connor, S Cleary, M Harrington, E Henry, O O’Flaherty, K Greasley, G Mulvihill
U.16 Div.4 League
The Clann lads suffered a heavy defeat away to Eire Óg last Monday evening. It was a miss match for most of the game, but (and this is not a cliché thrown in for the sake of it) the Clann boys showed character, particularly in the second half, in their attempts to compete with the older, bigger and stronger opposition. It must be said that it did take some time for our boys to adapt and, in truth, they looked a little shell shocked at the beginning and the result was clearly determined after the first 20 minutes.
However, with some encouragement and a little belief, they found a bit of fight and used their skills and speed to bag a decent number of scores. They didn’t look too despondent coming off the pitch and it will prove a very useful exercise for these young players in their development.
Eire Óg are a very fine side and by their own admission they should be playing in a higher division, but they are unfortunately caught with a lack of numbers to fulfil fixtures at 15 aside level. Great credit is due to the Clann management team of Denis, David and Mickey in their encouragement of the players on the night in cold and wet conditions.
Squad: Patrick Moran, Micheál McClean, Damien Kelly, Shane Flannery, Joseph Kelly, James Keane Flanagan, Michael Kelly, Alan Mulvey, Rian Carpenter, Josh Lennon, Ian Harney, John Feeney, Cian Gavin, Fionnán Henry.
Men's Senior League
Clann played away to Kilmore on Sunday in round 3 of the O'Rourke Cup. With the game in the final minutes, the match was abandoned after a serious injury was suffered by Kilmore player, Colm Garvey. We wish him a speedy recovery.Ladies Senior League
Clann senior ladies finally got to start their league campaign on Sunday last when they played host to Western Gaels in Johnstown. After two postponements it was great to finally get a game under their belts. It was a great performance from the girls who lined out with only 13 players due to girls away or working and yet came out on top on a score line of 5-17 to 4-10. It was a terrific performance of guts, determination and skill which saw Clann over the line.Playing with the wind in the first half, Clann were slow to settle but eventually got into the grove and matched the Gaels score for score. At half time the match was very close with Clann leading by just two points 2-6 to 2-4.
Facing into a stiffing breeze for the second half, Clann really upped their game and slowly began to build a lead which they were never to relinquish and eventually ran out convincing winners on a score line of 5-17 to 4-10.
Next up for the girls is another home game against Kilglass Gaels on the 23rd April.
Clann Team: Eaodain Lennon, Ida Crehan, Lauren McDonald, Kelley Colgan, Aime Quinn, Kelly Harrision, Saoirse McManus, Ruth Fingless, Trease Lennon, Caoimhe Lennon, Kayleigh Dunning, Michele Reynolds, Aoife O Brien.
U.12 League
Div.1 Spring League - Clann 0-16 Padraig Pearses 0-6After a delayed start to the league, it was great to see the U.12s take the field for their first game. The Division 1 game was even in the first half and was followed by a dominant display from the Clann boys in the second half.
In an experimental change to the rules this year, it was decided that a goal and a point equal one score in a bid to help goalkeepers and encourage point taking. Clann certainly took on this challenge head on and took some great points. The determined defence came out on top in the latter stages and supplied great ball up to the forwards. A very solid start to the league for the division 1 team.
Scorers for Clann were Conor Naughton, Conor Feeney, David Gavin, Gavin McManus, Jack Macken, Ryan Moran, Kenae Fallon and Ethanol Hunter.
Div.4 Spring league - Clann 0-6 Padraig Pearses 0-6
On a very busy night in Johnstown, the Division 4 team played their game on the training pitch at the same time as the division 1 game. This was a close contest and both sides had to make do with a share of the points.
It was well contested and the skill levels from both Clann and Pearses was impressive. Clann played very well against a physically stronger opposition with some well taken scores from Jason Dolan, James Doherty, Kevin Jordon and Eoin Naughton.
The final score was 0-6 to 0-6 which gave both teams a point each to kick off the season.
