Minor Boys Player of the Year 2016

The year gone by at minor level was very much of the rocky road version to say the least, a very good league run and a very narrow one point loss in the League final led on to the Championship where we had mixed results. A semi-final spot was achieved and then due to injuries to a number of players, and not getting any rub of the green, we didn’t make the final.

However, this year’s Minor Player of the Year was ever present from the start of training in early January, right through the league campaign and championship run. He never missed training, challenge, league or championship matches and was always willing to do any task he was set in training or game. This can be extended back to when he started at U8 level for Clann and has featured all the way up along U10’s, U12’s, U14’s U16’s and is one of the most improved players on the minor panel.

Coming from a family of very strong GAA roots, this year’s recipient has demonstrated great commitment and dedication to the cause of Clann na nGael over the years. In the year gone by he was also involved in the Junior, Intermediate and U20 panels and has gained immense respect and admiration from all involved.

Congratulations to the Clann na nGael Minor Boys Player of the Year 2016, Darragh Kildea.
