Minor Ladies Player of the Year 2016

The recipient of this year’s Clann na nGael Minor Ladies Player of the year award was an instrumental player in helping the team get to and win the Minor County final in 2016, unfortunately the team were very unlucky to lose out in the Connacht semi-final by a point.
However winning is something this lady has become accustomed to as a member of other successful teams at varying underage levels with the club, most notably with the Féile team that represented the club so ably in the national Féile na nÓg in Derry in 2013, and when we hosted Tipperary in 2014. She has also competed in various school competitions both at primary and secondary school levels.

It has been a pleasure to every member of the management team to watch this player grow and improve over the year. She has been very consistent both at training and in competitive matches giving a reliability at half back that brings great comfort to a manager and as mentioned she is so versatile and talented that she could even play in goals!
Her attitude to her team mates deserves special mention, she is selfless both on and off the field and will always have her head up looking to see how she can help another team mate.

We have been privileged to work with this young lady and we wish her every success in her path in life and look forward to witnessing the many more accolades she is undoubtedly going to achieve.

Congratulations to the Clann na nGael Minor Ladies Player of the Year 2016, Áine Connaughton.
